Volunteers Make Our Ministry Possible

common cathedral welcomes adults, high school and college students seeking regular volunteer service in all our programs. Students fulfilling community service requirements have designed programs of learning; adults and teens have created summer internships in our ministries. The Pastoral Care Team visits homeless men and women in local health care facilities and hospitals. common cathedral provides training in spiritual friendships, homelessness, pastoral skills, setting boundaries, safety, visiting hospitals, and related subjects.

If you are interested in a formal relationship such as an internship/field placement or just want to be present on Wednesdays at common art or Sundays at common cathedral.....All volunteer opportunities are welcome!  please contact us for more information.

Groups are Welcome

We welcome churches, college groups, and organizations to worship with us on Sundays, and to bring lunch and share time with our community. Contact our office for more information. To schedule a visit, please call 617-247-4927.

Groups are also welcome to CityReach.  A program that gives young people the opportunity to learn first hand about homelessness from people who have experienced it.

Knit for Homeless People

You may knit for our ministry or one in your own town.  Items you knit will be either given out at CityReach or on the street throughout the Winter.

Hats, scarves, mittens, and vests are most welcome. If you have favorite patterns feel free to use them. We have suggestions for knit hats and scarves here.

Finished items can be sent to our PO Box. It would be great if you would like to include a note to the person receiving your gift.

Attend our Paint Night fundraiser

After a wonderful event in the fall, we will come together again to celebrate, and share as we host our second common cathedral Paint Night fundraiser on Saturday, June 16th from 3:00 to 5:30pm. Our weekly program, common art, provides space, materials, and a caring staff to support creativity and expression. Join us to experience a night of creation as a professional artist guides you to make your very own painting from start to finish. Bring friend and loved ones to learn more about our programs. All skill levels welcome, and food, drink, and endless possibility are provided!  Get your tickets here.
