Patterns for Knit Items



Finished knit hat

RIBBED WATCH CAP

 

Materials:

  • 4 ply acrylic yarn (approx. 170 yds. worsted weight yarn)
  • Size #8 needles (two single-point needles, four double-point needles, or one round needle)

 

Directions:

Border:

  • Cast on 84 stitches. If using four needles, divide stitches onto 3 needles and join, taking care not to twist stitches.
  • *K2, P2, repeat from * around until piece measures 2 ½ inches.

Body:

  • Knit even (garter stitch – knit every row) until piece measures 9 inches.

Crown:

  • Decreases:
    • Next rnd: *K6, K2 tog; rep from * = 77 sts. Then Knit 1 round
    • Next rnd: *K5, K2 tog; rep from * = 66 sts. Then Knit 1 round
    • Next rnd: *K4, K2 tog; rep from * = 55 sts. Then Knit 1 round
    • Next rnd: *K3, K2 tog; rep from * = 44 sts. Then Knit 1 round
    • Next rnd: *K2, K2 tog; rep from * = 33 sts. Then Knit 1 round
    • Next rnd: *K1, K2 tog; rep from * = 22 sts. Then Knit 1 round
    • Next rnd: *K2 tog; rep from * = 11 sts.
  • Cut yarn leaving a long enough piece to pull through remaining sts, pull up tightly and secure end.
  • Turn up cuff.

Scarf Pattern



Materials:


  • 4 ply acrylic yarn
  • Pair number 6 single point needles
  • Wool needle for joining


Directions:


  1. Cast on 32 stitches
  2. Knit even (knit every row) for 14 inches
  3. K4, P4 for 18"
  4. Knit even (knit every row) for 14 inches
  5. Bind off.
