Dr. Denise Malis, PhD, MFA, LMHC

With a distinguished career spanning over 25 years, Dr. Denise Malis has made significant contributions to the fields of art therapy and mental health counseling. Her extensive experience includes teaching and mentoring both graduate and undergraduate students, delivering insightful lectures, conducting impactful workshops, and authoring publications in the realm of art therapy.

Dr. Malis’s commitment to fostering inclusive creative development is evident in her leadership of the art mentoring program in Somerville, MA. For over a decade, this program has been instrumental in integrating adults with mental health disabilities into the artistic community, showcasing her dedication to inclusivity and empowerment through art. Her international experience includes teaching in Singapore, further expanding her influence in the global educational landscape.

Recently retired from Lesley University, Dr. Malis is deeply excited to be part of the Common Cathedral community.
