Rev. Dr. Tamar Wasoian, Associate Minister and Program Director

Born in Aleppo, Syria, Tamar came to the United States to pursue her Master’s in Theological Studies at McCormick Theological Seminary as a Global Scholar Scholarship recipient and later earned her doctoral degree in Christian Education and Congregational Life from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary.

Tamar taught in several seminaries in the Chicago area and currently teaches online religious education classes at Lexington Theological Seminary and the Wesleyan Divinity School in the Philippines. Throughout her teaching, she has helped emerging leaders to discern their call and find their own voice in ministry on the backdrop of shifting local and global realities.

Discerning a long-postponed call to ministry, she recently became ordained under the care of the Presbytery of New Covenant in Houston with PC(USA).
